Mr. Christopher G. Berry, age 44, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday evening, January 10, 2014 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. He was born on October 5, 1969 in Gloversville, the son of John and Cora Blowers Berry. He was educated in Northville schools and lived most of his life in Benson. He was employed by a Nationwide Insurance agency in Gloversville for over twenty years. Christopher enjoyed hiking, kayaking and also vacationing in Maine where he loved the ocean. He is survived by his life partner of over twelve years, Brian Saville of Amsterdam; his mother, Cora A. McCloskey of Benson; his sister, Donna Deming of Benson; a nephew, Jason M. Berry Kimberly M. Sweet and a niece, Kayla M. Deming Cody Parker. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved cat, Annie. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 14th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Mead officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
