Mary Ann Eagan
August 19th, 1926 - December 21st, 2013
Mrs. Mary Ann Eagan, age 87, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday evening, December 21, 2013 at The Teresian House in Albany. She was born August 19, 1926 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Augustus and Mary Hawley Fadden. She was employed as a waitress and dining room supervisor at the Kingsboro Hotel, Johnstown Holiday Inn, Johnstown Hotel and John L's. Mary was proud of her association with her co-workers and the customers that she had served. She also took pride in helping those in need as a home health aide, as a T.O.P.S. instructor and assisting others to stop the habit of cigarette smoking. Mrs. Eagan was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit. She was also active many years ago in the Park Terrace School PTA. She had a vivacious personality and enjoyed entertaining others with numerous stories and her quick wit. She enjoyed gardening and most of all she loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Walter L. Eagan, Jr; in 1986. Survivors include three children: Thomas S. Eagan, MD and his wife Deborah of Gloversville, Timothy J. Eagan and his wife Kathleen of Evergreen, CO and Tracy R. Eagan and his wife Eileen of Cumming, GA and a sister, Helen Peterson and her husband Art of Camillus, NY. Mary leaves behind eight grandchildren: Todd Eagan, Travis Eagan, Ellery Cohen, Caitlin Quintero, Tyler Eagan, Sarah Eagan, Rebecca Eagan and Evan Eagan; three great-grandchildren: Raquel Cohen, Aiden Quintero and Luke Quintero. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by six brother and sisters: William Fadden, Joseph Fadden, John Fadden, Irene Aller, Richard Fadden and Nancy Hayes. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 27th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating. Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd; Loudonville, NY 12211 or to the charity of your choice
