David C. Reese

Mr. David C. Reese, 62, of Walnut Street, Canajoharie died peacefully at home on Monday, November 25, 2013. Born in Little Falls, NY he was the son of the late Edward and Esther Clark Reese. A lifelong area resident, David attended Fort Plain schools. For 30 years he was employed by Beech- Nut in Canajoharie. He was a member of St. John's- St. Mark's Lutheran Church and enjoyed the outdoors and playing cards. His greatest passion was being a father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rosemary Field Reese; two children, Carl W. Reese and his wife Kimberly of Sprakers and Andrea L. Swain of Coral Springs, FL; his godchild, Michelle Blakeslee of Palatine Bridge; four siblings, Katherine Blakeslee of AZ, Lillian Hayes of Cherry Valley, Edward Reese, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Fort Plain and Alfred Reese of AZ; five grandchildren, Nicole Swain, Merisa Swain, Brandon Swain, Carl W. Reese II and Michelle Reese; three great grandchildren, Damian, Abigail and Carl W. III; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Elva Webb and a daughter, Catherine "Katie" Reese- Young. Funeral services for David will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 1 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, New York with the Rev. Zach Labagh presiding. Relatives and friends are invited and may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department.
