Henry C. Kuntzsch

Mr. Henry Kuntzsch Jr., 79, of Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY passed away peacefully Sunday November 24, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on September 12, 1934 in Tannersville, NY a son of the late Henry and Pauline Ague Kuntzsch Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Canajoharie and attended Canajoharie Schools. Henry worked for over 34 years for the Village of Canajoharie Public Works. He was also a Volunteer for many years for the Canajoharie Police Department serving in many capacities. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, flying airplanes and riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. He was a member of the former St. Peter's and Paul's Roman Catholic Church. Henry was married for 57 years to the former Helen Marotta Kuntzsch who passed away on August 10, 2011. Survivors include his son, Joseph Michael Kuntzsch of Ft. Plain, NY. A special daughter-in-law, Ceta Kuntzsch. Brothers and sisters, Robert Carol Kuntzsch, Eva Edward Thompson, Fred Donna Kuntzsch, Susan Duane Rhodes, Martin Donna Kuntzsch, Stephen Kuntzsch, Patricia Michael Cardamone, and Alice Kuntzsch. Four grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph Jr., Michael and Kacia, One great-granddaughter, Hannah Faith. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Henry was predeceased by a son, Stephen Henry Kuntzsch on May 30, 1995. A Private Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery, Canajoharie, NY. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 27, 2013 from 10:00A.M. to 12:00 Noon at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
