Harriet Grey, 69, of Liberty Enterprises' Van Dyke Ave home passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with her loving Liberty Family at her side. Harriet was born in the New York City area on October 25, 1943. She was the only daughter in her family of three. Her Mother passed away at an early age and her father and stepfather also predeceased her as well as both of her brothers. She lived in the New York City area until 1944 when she moved to Liberty/Montgomery County ARC Glen residence. She resided there until 1995 when moving to her Van Dyke Ave residence in Amsterdam, where she has lived for the past 18 years. She also attended Liberty Day Treatment program and had many friends who loved her dearly. Harriet was known for sitting in the administration office watching staff work or just asking for a favor. She enjoyed going to the casinos, going to see the Chippendales dancers or just going out for the day with staff. She is survived by all her family at the Van Dyke residence and caregivers at Liberty. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 21, 2013 at 10:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
