Joan R. Minasi
July 7th, 1942 - April 6th, 2013
Joan R. Bindulski Minasi, 70, of George Street, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's Healthcare with her loving family at her side. Born in Albany on July 7, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Merendo Bindulski, she lived in Amsterdam since the age of thirteen. She was a 1960 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Joan worked for Briers Of Amsterdam for a time and later began a long career in restaurant service. She worked as a waitress for the former Kaffee Klatch and then for a number of years at the Holiday Inn and Best Western. She loved to cook and bake, caring for her home and being with her family. Joan enjoyed trips to the casinos, bingo and all outdoor activities. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. On May 28, 1966, she was married to Rocco Minasi Sr. She leaves her children, Rocco Minasi and his wife Sonya of Plattsburgh, and Veronica Minasi of Amsterdam; her granddaughter Sophia Jolee Minasi; sister Veronica Bindulski of Gloversville; aunt, Rose Sobkowicz of Amsterdam as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. A prayer service will take place Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Lawrence J. Decker officiating. Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery. A calling period will begin Tuesday at 11 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Asso. in care of the funeral home office.
