Irene L. Tice

Mrs. Irene L. Tice, 89, of Ocala, Florida, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Hospice of Marion County. She was born November 2, 1923 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Anthony and Nancy Lipkin Lapp. Irene graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and the Utica School for Practical Nursing. She resided in West Winfield where she was very active in St. Joseph's Church as the Organist and Choir Director. Irene was past president of American Legion Auxiliary 1113 in Whitesboro and past National Officer and Grande President of La Societe de Femme. She was employed by the NYS Office of Mental Health in Utica and Amsterdam as a case manager and Continuing Treatment Program Coordinator before retiring in 1999. Irene was a Eucharistic Minister of the former St. Casimir's Church, sang in the choir and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was active with the Knights of Lithuania Council #100, past president of American Legion Post 701 Auxiliary and past president of Inman Senior Center. Irene is survived by her husband Harold C. Tice, SR., her son David Carmel Connor of Ocala and her daughter Diane Taylor of Dunwoody, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Maria Staffeldt, Paul Robin Silvestri , Amanda Jon Miller and Erin Neil Ecton; great grandchildren Anthony Christyna and Corey Silvestri, Glenn Staffeldt, Ariel McCormick, Zachary and Taylor Miller, Ainsley and Finn Ecton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Amsterdam. Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Church Chapel, 1 hour prior to the Mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home.
