Mary Jean Kollar, 65, of Gloversville, passed away March 28, 2013 at Bringham & Women's Hospital, Boston. She was born August 14, 1947 in Gloversville, daughter of the late Henry C. and Mary "Betty" Mattison Peters. Mary Jean was educated in Gloversville schools and retired after more than thirty years as an appointment clerk at Lexington Center. She enjoyed a variety of activities and interests including shopping, craft shows and being an avid quilter. Mary Jean loved the outdoors and frequently went camping. In addition to her family, she especially loved her Jack Russell Terrier, "Jack The Ripper". She is survived by husband Richard J. Torino of Gloversville, daughter Regina A. Siver Randy of Gloversville and her son Matthew J. Kollar Jillian of Johnstown. Mary Jean is also survived by her sister Brenda Lee Abouarra Nihad, brothers William H. Peters Sandy and Paul R. Peters all of Gloversville, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, James Alan Peters. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. No other services will be held. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the James Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd. Gloversville, N.Y. 12078.
