Mr. Peter McNally, 59, of Reid Street, Amsterdam passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 23, 2017 at St. Peters Hospital in Albany with his family at his side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on January 3, 1958 he was the son of the late John and Helen Dawson McNally, Sr. A lifelong area resident, Peter graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1976. He was employed for over 15 years at the Bunzl Corp. in Scotia where he worked in the distribution department. He was a member of the P.N.A. in Amsterdam. Peter enjoyed playing darts in the Amsterdam City Dart League and was an avid card player and football fan. Above all he loved his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Peter is survived by his eight siblings; Eileen Vargas and her husband Carlos, Cathy Hernandez, Caroline Pietri and her husband Edgar, Sandra Blankenbaker and her husband Mike, John McNally, Jr., Stephen McNally, William McNally and his wife Donna, and Adam McNally; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his bother Louis McNally on June 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 4:00PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 33 Everett Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
