Harold A. MacDougall

Harold A. MacDougall, Sr. of Midline Road passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013 at Albany Medical Center with his loving family at his bedside. He was born August 28, 1932 in Amsterdam, NY, and was the son of the late Herbert and Gladys Male MacDougall. Harold was a life time resident of the area and attended Perth Central School. Harold worked for the Mohawk Candy & Tobacco Company in Amsterdam for forty-four years as a salesman and truck driver. He loved his job traveling in upstate New York and meeting new people. He retired in 2003. In his early years, Harold enjoyed dancing with his wife and riding his motorcycle. He was a major NASCAR fan watching his favorite drivers; Richard Petty and Kale Yarborough and enjoyed going to antique car shows. On September 20, 1959, he married Jacqueline Pacillo, who passed away February 1, 2003. He was also predeceased by a brother Russell MacDougall and a sister Barbara McNamara. Survivors include his five sons, Harold "Sonny" MacDougall of Plano, TX, Mark MacDougall of Watervliet, Pastor Keith Kathy MacDougall of Coatsville, PA, Michael Kelly MacDougall of Perth and Scott Marianne MacDougall of Gloversville; two daughters Deborah Rich Howland of West Sand Lake and Jacqueline Ben Hume Newell of Amsterdam; nine grandchildren Taylor, Keith Jr., Tyler and Nathan MacDougall, Jennifer Camacho, Justin and Joshua Newell, Brandy and Samantha Hume; four great grandchildren Anthony, Gabriella, Liliana and Luis and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 19, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with his son Pastor Keith MacDougall officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Stroke Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
