Marjorie Herringshaw

Mrs. Marjorie Herringshaw of Goodrich Avenue, Fort Plain, New York passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home at the age of 68. Born in Fort Plain on February 12, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Rexford Dygert and Lela Madison. A lifelong area resident, Marjorie was a 1964 graduate of Fort Plain High School. She was employed in the cafeteria at Fort Plain Central and later worked for Palatine Nursing Home and the St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. On September 24, 1966 she married the love of her life, Roger A. Herringshaw, Sr. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Together for 46 years they built a home and raised a family. Marjorie enjoyed the Yankees and the Knicks and was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband, Roger; her children, Roger Heather Hubbard Herringshaw, Jr., Rebecca Robert Booth, Sharon Duane Garlock and Susan Herringshaw; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; two siblings, Janet Roger Hudson and William Dolder; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jack Green and Ruth Jacksland. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 36 Lydius Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock at the church. Private interment will take place in the Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marjorie's memory may be made to her beloved church.
