Marjorie L. Sanders, age 71, of Gloversville, died Monday, September 18, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. She was born October 31, 1945 in Lewisburg, PA, the daughter of Colvin and Helen Fancher Young. She was employed by Johnstown Knitting Mill for many years. Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Christine Nevels and Jennifer Richmond of Gloversville; three sisters, Janice Getman (George) and Audrey Almy of Gloversville and Kay Hawkins of Stamford, CT; a brother, Robert Young of Virginia; six grandsons, Connor Ferrara, Andrew Richmond, Christopher Richmond, Phillip Richmond, Noah Richmond and Patrick Richmond; a great-grandson, Thomas Richmond; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by a grandson, Austin Sanders-Simek. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4pm Friday, September 22, 2017 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Gloversville Public Library, 58 E. Fulton St; Gloversville, NY 12078 .
