Elizabeth D. Younglove
October 19th, 1924 - October 10th, 2012
Elizabeth Dillon Younglove, a devoted wife and mother whose maternal love and devotion pervaded her long life, passed away on October 10, 2012. A Fort Plain resident all her life, Elizabeth was a parishioner of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church. She was married and is survived by Robert Cole Younglove for 61 years. Their life's journey together was a model of selfless love, friendship and commitment. Elizabeth's life was marked by maternal love for her family and friends alike; she is survived by many adoring family members. She was the cherished mother and best friend of Linda John Laccetti of Latham, and Robert C. Ellen Younglove II of Amsterdam; her surviving grandchildren include Jordan Elaine Laccetti of Saratoga Springs, Alex Laccetti of Latham, Robert Younglove of Amsterdam, and Lynda Adam Casey of Rotterdam. She is also survived by her beloved sister Genevieve Williams of Palatine Bridge and the nieces and nephews so dear to her. Elizabeth was employed for over twenty years in the cafeterias of the Fort Plain Central School District. Her work was an important aspect of her life, allowing her to serve the community's youth while growing close to some of her dearest life-long friends. Upon retiring, Elizabeth became an enthusiastic traveler who spent much of her time traveling throughout our fifty states, as well as Canada, Mexico and Europe. She was also an avid baker and chef; some of her greatest pleasures in life were derived from trying new recipes and gifting her friends and family with baked assortments for the holidays. She was also a passionate animal lover. The family would like to thank the staff of the Eddy Village Green, House 22, for their unwavering support over the past few years, and Community Hospice of Rensselaer for their invaluable care. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 10 o'clock at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 115 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339 with the Rev. Dennis Murphy as celebrant. Private burial will take place in the Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Elizabeth be directed to Community Hospice of Rensselaer 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144 518 285-8114 Arrangements have been entrusted to the staff at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
