Jacqueline A. Pawlak

Mrs. Jacqueline A. Pawlak, 70, of Stairs Rd., passed away Thursday August 30, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on December 9, 1941 a daughter of the late James Hayes and Aldona Gizara. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1959 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Mrs. Pawlak was a homemaker. She was very active at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the church's Parish Council. She married Felix R. Pawlak on September 9, 1961. In addition to her husband survivors include two beloved daughters, Marie Apholz Tom of Amsterdam, NY and Gail Peterkin also of Amsterdam. Four grandchildren, Zachary and Brody Apholz, Christian Hines and Sean Peterkin. A dear sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bogdan of Amsterdam. Nieces and Nephews, John Bogdan, Cheryl Bogdan and Dr. Dawn Bogdan-Watson. Dear friends, Mary Ann Olson, Joan and Kandy. Jacqueline enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with her family. She was very active in her class reunion planning and enjoyed bowling for a time. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 8:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15A.M. at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY with Father O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, Labor Day, September 3, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00P.M. at the funeral home.
