Zennia C. Mason

Mrs. Zennia C. Mason, 97, of Gloversville, passed away May 27, 2012. She was born April 3, 1915 in Vail Mills, daughter of the late John and Lillian Burgess Lawton. Mrs. Mason was educated in Mayfield schools and employed as a glove sewer at Grandoe Corp. for many years, retiring in 1977. Zennia was a member of the North Main St. United Methodist Church, the Amalgamated Glove Workers Union and the Sacandaga Swingers. She was married to Joseph Johnson in 1933. He pre-deceased her in 1968. Her second marriage to Ernest Mason in 1976 lasted until his death in 2003. Survivors include her children: Beverly Bartlett and Donna Muhlberger Fred Jr. both of Gloversville, John Johnson Judith of New Hampshire, and Garvin Johnson and his companion Sindee of Indiana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Zennia was pre-deceased by her Siblings Irene Lawton, Amanda Travis, Gordon Lawton, Willard Lawton and Alphies Lawton. Funeral services will be held 12:30 Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. with Reverend Christopher Hamm, Pastor of North Main St. United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 am to 12:30 prior to the service. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave. Gloversville, N.Y. 12078.
