Carol A. Martin

Carol A. Martin, 67, of Smith Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, was called home to be with the Lord on May 17th 2012, after a short illness. Born April 5th 1945, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick & Carol Wilson. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Eugene Martin Jr., she was also survived by 6 children, Saundra Damphire Paul, Eugene Martin III. Penny, Rodney Martin Stephanie of Washington, Lynn Martin, Cheryl Martin, Heather Bryan Mike of Hyde Park. Survived by 10 grandchildren Lenise Henderson Eugene, Casey, Calvin Martin, Nicole, Paul Damphire, Mike Bryan, Alonzo Martin, Dante Damphire, Aidan & Joshua Martin. Also 4 great grandchildren, Jaiden Brown, Xavier Martin, Aniya Lopez, and Trevonne Henderson. Also 6 sisters, Joyce Farrell, Gertude Wilson of Georgia, Dawna Whelley, Sonia Wilson, Elaine Baker, Bridget O'shaughnessy. Also 6 brothers, Freddy, David, Jamie, Brian Wilson, Bruce O'shaughnessy and Richard Burton. Also proceeded by the late Lawrence Wilson. She was survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and Aunts & Uncles. Carol worked for 25 years for the Montgomery County infirmary, retiring in 2001. She was the member of the Time for Truth Ministries. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 1 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Pastor Raymond Barnett presiding. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
