Kenneth G. Winters, age 83 of Caroga Lake passed away on Thursday May 10, 2012 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He was born in the Town of Florida, NY on November 3, 1928 the son of the late George Winters and Marion Schulz. Kenneth proudly served in the United States Army from 1950 until 1952. Kenneth was an auto mechanic at various garages. He specialized in automatic transmissions. Kenneth was always willing to help anyone and was known as a "jack of all trades". Kenneth was also a historian. He enjoyed tracing his family history and genealogy. He enjoyed German music and love to go to the German Festivals at Hunter Mountain. Kenneth is survived by his two children: Paul Winters Effie Hauser of Caroga Lake, Mariana Brunell Scott of Clifton Park, five grandchildren: Ashley, Jarret, Jenah, London, Keegan as well as his wife, Pauline Winters. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Joan Winters, two brothers: Robert Winters, Harry Winters and a sister, Dorothy Szabo. There will be no calling hours or services. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at Leatherstocking Crematorium in Cherry Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kenneth to the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 536, Caroga Lake, NY 12032.
