Margaret Sweet
May 25th, 1961 - April 20th, 2012
Margaret A. Sweet, 50, passed away peacefully Friday, April 20 at home with her loving family at her side. She was born May 25, 1961 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Francis and Mabel Surnear Sweet. Margaret was employed as a welder for Taylor Made Group in Gloversville for twenty years. She absolutely loved the outdoors- camping, fishing, boating and tubing. She was very handy and enjoyed doing home improvements. She enjoyed gardening and baking and was an avid shopper especially on QVC. Most of all, she adored her grandson, Xavier and loved spending time with him. Margaret was a fiercely independent and adventurous woman. She will be very sadly missed by many. Survivors include two daughters: Cassey Wassel of Menands and Naomi Youker Justin of St. Johnsville; a grandson, Xavier Youker; two brothers: Leonard Sweet Sandy of Broadalbin and David Sweet Cindy of Gloversville; a sister, Elizabeth Sweet Mike Ketchum of Mayfield; best friend, Donald "Dibar" Dibartolomeo; family friend, Joseph Wassel Kathy of Gloversville; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her beloved dog, Lizzie. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by a brother, Francis Sweet. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Relay for Life, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
