July 19th, 1935 - February 7th, 2012
Marion A. Ostrander, 76, of Mayfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2012. She was born on July 19, 1935 in Brooksville Corners, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd and Marion Mills Smith. Marion enjoyed baking, crocheting and crafts. She also loved going for rides and visiting family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her loved ones. Survivors include three sons: Harold Boyer of St. Johnsville, Rodney Boyer of Ft. Plain and Edward Bradt, Jr. of Queensbury; eight daughters: Karen Hill Richard of Longmont, CO, Christine Zemanik William of Johnstown, Donna Myers Barry of Delanson, Ginnette Ostrander Paul of Meco, Cynthia Coolbaugh Dave of Scranton, PA, Mary Lou Strait herb of Montgomery, Patricia Ashbey Christopher of Bleecker and April Ostrander of Gloversville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Smith, Jr. Caroline of Dolgeville; five sisters: Leah Cook of Herkimer, Eva Rockwell of Nelliston, Katherine Wittko of Canajoharie, Rose Niemeyer of Canjoharie and Carol Yonge of Ithaca and several nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by a son, Peter Bradt and a daughter, Harriet Boyd. Family and friends are invited and may call Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Reverend David Newkirk presiding. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
