Christiane Langner

Mrs. Christiane Langner, of Fultonville passed away peacefully Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the E.L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. Her loving husband was by her side. She was born November 7, 1935 in Duesseldorf- Kaiserwerth, Germany. The daughter of the late Friedrich and Anna Bonawitz Irle. Christiane was born and raised in Germany. She attended school in Germany also, after graduating she went onto trade school to become a Laboratory Technician. She was united in marriage to Guenther O. Langner on October 18, 1957. Soon after their marriage she perused her love of artistry and went to Drama School. She was an actress for some time. She moved with her husband and family to the United States around 1967. She was employed by the Poughkeepsie Ballet Theatre as a costume designer. They lived in various places and before their retirement and once retired, settled into a country home in the town of Glen where she enjoyed painting and drawing, working in her floral garden and reading. Christiane is survived by her devoted husband Guenther O. Langner, PhD daughters Petra Langner, M.D. of Albany and Miriam Langner of Perkinsville, VT; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers Gerhard and Hartmut Irle both of Germany. She is predeceased by her son Andreas "Andy" Langner, PhD. Funeral services for Mrs. Langner will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam NY 12010.
