Adele L. Berger, age 88 of Bloomington, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Bell Trace Nursing Home in Bloomington, IN. She was born in Albany, NY on February 23, 1923 the daughter of the late Louis and Eva Goldberg Lazarus. In August 1945, Adele married Howard R. Berger. They shared 58 years united in marriage until his passing on November 21, 2003. Adele resided in the Gloversville area from 1945 until 1958 when she moved to Cleveland, OH. She devoted her life to volunteering, especially to organizations within the Jewish community in Cleveland. Adele is survived by a daughter, Barbara Walker of Bloomington, IN, a son, Steven Berger Annie of Littleton, CO and 7 grandchildren: Nina, Natalie, Alexander, Zachary, Elisa, Laura and Emily. In addition to her husband and parents, Adele was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Lazarus. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 20, 2012 at Knesseth Israel Cemetery with the Rabbi Rose Durbin officiating.
