Luis A. Torres

Luis A. Torres, Jr. of Jay Street, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday at St. Mary?s Hospital. He was born September 6, 1980, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Luis A. Torres, Sr. and Maritza Bobe. Luis moved to Amsterdam when he was 9 years old where he had since resided. He worked as a kitchen supervisor for Park Hill Adult Home in Amsterdam. In addition to his parents, Luis is survived by his grandmother Theresa Cruz, two brothers: Carlos Priscilla Torres and Jonathan Torres both of Amsterdam, two sisters: Crystal and Angie Torres both of Amsterdam, his nieces and nephews: Daivian Rivera, Dainon Aviles and Gia and Nia Aviles, aunts, uncles, other nieces and nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the Iglesia Santidad y Fuego, 24 Center Street, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the church Sunday and Monday from 4 to 7 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
