Jose Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez, 71, of Wall Street in Amsterdam, NY, has gone to his eternal rest on Friday, April 28th, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born on September 28th, 1945 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Mercedes and Jose. Known to many people as Cachapo or Papo, he relocated to the area with his family in the late 70's. Jose was a well-known and liked individual who always made time to help those around him. He enjoyed fishing, reading western novels, watching western movies, playing dominos, and salsa music. He will be remembered for being a very caring individual, whose great sense of humor could make anyone laugh and smile. Jose is survived by his wife and friend of many years Santa; his sons, Joseph, Daniel, and Samuel; his grandson Isaiah; his sisters, his brothers, his nieces, and his nephews. A Funeral Service for Jose will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 at 11am at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10am - 11am prior to the service at the funeral home.
