William F. "Bill" Relyea, Sr., 62 of Gloversville, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. He was born September 24, 1947 in Schoharie, the son of the late Albert and Florence Liddle Relyea. Bill served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1966 until 1972 where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was employed as a welder for Schenectady Steel. On July 7, 1974, Bill married his sweetheart, the former Jayne Deyoe, who survives. Bill loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. He enjoyed working on his boat and cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially liked Dale Jarret. Bill was a great practical joker and liked to play pranks. Most of all, he loved to be with his family. He will be sadly missed. In addition to his wife, Jayne Relyea of Gloversville, survivors include a son, William Relyea, Jr. of Gloversville, a daughter, Tammy Relyea of Gloversville, A brother, Albert Relyea of Schenectady, four sisters: Elsie Pierce of Feura Bush, Jeanette Seale of Florida, Donna Jones Ronnie of Delanson and Janice Duncan Reggie of Medusa and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He predeceased by a sister, Florence Borst. Family and friends are invited and may call Thursday, July 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Cremation will be at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Interment in the columbarium wall at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery will be Monday, July 12 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill's memory to the March of Dimes, 80 Wolf Rd. Suite 106 Albany, NY 12205.
