Sanford Davis
February 14th, 1932 - July 1st, 2010
Sanford Davis, 78, passed away Thursday, July 01, 2010 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born February 14, 1932 in Northville, the son of the late Andrew and Leona Conklin Davis. He was last employed at Coleco Industries in Gloversville. On December 11, 2004, he was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Hayes, who survives. They spent over six wonderful years together. Sanford enjoyed playing on his computer, watching the television shows Ice Road Truckers, Walker, Texas Ranger and X-Men, collecting tools, playing Rummy and watching action and western movies. He was a fun guy who liked to make funny faces. A generous man, he always put others ahead of himself. If you ever needed anything, all you had to do was ask. He will be very sadly missed. In addition to his wife, Evelyn Davis of Gloversville, survivors include his children; one sister, Anna Mae King of Virginia; nieces Kimberly Davis and her fiancé Matthew Johnson, niece Darla Wood and several other nieces, nephews and cousins; his best friend, Elvin Walters and many other close friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward F. Davis; four sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Kenyon, Ruth Deming, Claudia Lais and Eleanor Gordon and his beloved dog, Dolly. Family and friends are invited and may call Monday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Donations may be made in Sanford's name to the American Lung Association.
