Sonja Knapp, age 46, of Broadalbin passed away on Saturday May 29, 2010 at St Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a long illness. She was born in Gloversville, NY on July 16, 1963 the daughter of Barbara Webb and the late Louis Knapp. Sonja was a graduate of Mayfield Central School District. Sonja had a great sense of humor and loved the outdoors. While being outdoors, Sonja enjoyed gardening, camping and riding horses. But most of all Sonja loved to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. Sonja is survived by her three daughters: Amanda VanNostrand, Alicia Serafin and Chrissy Knapp all of Broadalbin. Additional survivors include five grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, Isaiah, Joe and Amia; two sisters: Shirley Knapp and Lisa Schultz as well as her companion of 18 years, Duane Pepper. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday June 4, 2010 at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home; 85 West Main Street; Broadalbin. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin with the Rev Dr. R. W. Williams officiating.
