Armyn Eugene Frankenbery, †œRocky†�, 80 years old, a resident of Golden, CO died of lung cancer on November 24, 2015 at Collier Hospice, Wheat Ridge, CO after of lengthy illness. Rocky was born on July 4, 1935 to Margaret A. Mueller and Armyn J. Frankenbery in Canon City, CO. He graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1953 and attended University of Northern Colorado. He joined the Navy in October 1959 and served 21 years with 2 years in Vietnam (1966-68). He served as a corpsman and a dental technician for the Navy, as well as the Marines. He married Patty Loose on Dec. 29, 1988. Rocky worked as an American Family Insurance Agent, S.S. White purchasing manager, Wheat Ridge Lumber Co., American Red Cross Fitzsimons and Lowry Station Manager and Dahlen Dental Labs. His interests included photography, genealogy and watching the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. He was a member of Palatines to America and American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. Memorial Service will be Saturday, Dec 5, 2015 at Aspen Mortuary, 1350 Simms, Lakewood, CO at 11:00 am. Private family interment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date. Rocky beloved husband of Patty, devoted father to Frank (Dee) Bowers of Ridgefield, WA; Dan (Jennifer) Frankenbery of Henderson, CO; step sons Park (Christine) Learned of Aurora, CO; Rob (Emily) Learned of Nashville, TN and Jeff Strawser of Arvada, CO; daughters Jere (John) Favreau of Gansevoort, NY and Christiane (Jorge) Vegarra of Baltimore, MD. Honorary sister Reita Motley of Salt Lake City, UT. He was grandpa and Papa to eleven grandchildren. Rocky is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family requests no flowers.
