Sophie Boduch

Sophie Boduch, 91, of Mayfield, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010. She was born in 1918 in Perry, NY the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Lopisz. From 1946 to 1966, Sophie and her husband, Julian were co- owners of the Mayfield Grill. They sole were owners from 1966 to 1976. Mrs. Boduch was a member of the Mayfield Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening and cooking. Most of all, Sophie loved to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be very sadly missed. In addition to her parents, Sophie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Julian V. Boduch in 1977. Survivors include three sons: Robert Boduch Penny of Ballston Spa, Richard Boduch Kathleen of Portsmouth, NH and Randy Boduch Annmarie of Greenwich, NY; two daughters: Carol Boduch of Mayfield and Christine Querbes William of Niskayuna; nine grandchildren: Lisa Schreiber, Lori Pooler, Kevin Boduch, Ryan Boduch, Reed Boduch, William Querbes, Jr., Brandon Querbes, Julie Bardin and Sara Querbes; six great grandchildren: Haley, Bethany, Grace, Emma, Anna and Grayson and a brother, Norman Lopesz of Waterville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville, with the Very Reverend Donald Czelusniak as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Whitesboro, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. Donations may be made in Sophie's memory to the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
