Charles L. Kiernan

Charles L. Kiernan, age 87, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday October 3, 2009 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. Charles was born in Albany, NY on August 27, 1922 the son of the late Henry and Mary Porter Kiernan. He was educated in the Albany School District. Charles served his country in the United States Coast Guard. After his discharge, Charles held several different jobs over the years. He worked for D&H Railroad in Albany, Chase Manhattan Bank in Albany, and for several years he was the custodian of the Knesseth Israel Synagogue in Gloversville. Charles is survived by a step son: Claude R. Warren Signe of Gloversville, two step grandsons: Robert and Brent Warren. Two step great grandchildren: Lexie Warren and Kendal Warren also survive. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife Lydia Kovar, his second wife Audrey Warren, a brother Henry Kiernan, and a sister Agnes Mickley. There will be no calling hours or services. Interment will take place at Memory's Garden Cemetery in Albany. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles to the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility; 847 CoHwy 122; Gloversville, NY 12078.
