John T. Sweeney, 49, of Gloversville, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. He was born July 15, 1960 in Gloversville, the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Erkenbrack Sweeney. John was employed by Blasper Inc. and Esper Landscaping. Survivors include four brothers and six sisters: Frank E. Sweeney III of Meco, Michael H. Sweeney Patricia of Meco, Virginia L. McCumber John of Mayfield, Kathy A. Otto John of Brandon, FL, Charlene A. St. Dennis Richardof Gloversville, James R. Sweeney Jill of Gloversville, Joan M. Sweeney of Meco, Thomas J. Sweeney Missy of Johnstown, Ann E. Blanchard of Gloversville and Nancy J. Johnson Robert of Fonda and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak on Saturday July 25, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
