Inez M. Clarke

Mrs. Inez M. Clarke passed away Saturday morning, March 14, 2009 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. She was born June 19, 1928 in Gloversville where she lived all her life. The daughter of the late William I.B. and Letha Young Warner, Sr; Inez was a graduate of the Gloversville High School Class of 1946. She was employed for many years as a secretary for the Schine Theatre chain and later was a legal secretary for local area attorneys for 15 years. Her last employment was church secretary for St. James Lutheran Church in Gloversville. Inez assisted in organizing the Alzheimer's Disease & Support Group of Gloversville, and was also one of the group facilitators. She was predeceased by her husband, William A. Clarke, whom she married February 7, 1970, and also by her grandson, Matthew W. Smith. Inez is survived by a brother, William I.B. Warner, Jr. Faith, two sons, Martin J. Smith Susan and Rodger W. Smith, Sr. Deborah of Gloversville; four grandsons, Rodger W. Smith, Jr. Crystal, Michael R. Smith Kayla of Fort Plain, Kristopher J. Smith and James J. Smith and a granddaughter Trinity "Twinkletoes" of Gloversville; four nieces and nephews, Billy, Jennifer, Douglas and Kristine; two great-grandchildren, three stepchildren and six step-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, with the Rev. L. David Almleaf officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimers Association, 85 Watervliet Ave; Albany, NY 12206 or to St. James Lutheran Church, 521 N.
