Howard Flint
March 14th, 1911 - February 9th, 2009
Howard Flint, 97, of Logtown Rd., Town of Glen, NY, passed away Early Monday morning February 9th, 2009 at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in the Town of Amsterdam. Born in the Town of Perth, NY on March 14th, 1911 a son of Grover C. and Edith Ecker Flint. He lived in the Town of Glen area most of his life and was a 1930 graduate of Fonda High School. He went on to graduate from Welding School. Howard worked for a time with his dad at the family farm in the Town of Glen area. Mr. Flint worked as a blacksmith for the General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY from 1942 to 1956. He also was a welder and was the operator of his own welding shop. He was a member of the Charleston Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners. He married Beverly Manzer Flint on May 30th 1942. She passed away on July 16th, 1985. Howard is survived by two daughters, Marlene Brown of Middleburgh, NY and Mary Carlson of West Sand Lake, NY. Seven grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Blanche Young. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 11th, 2009 at 3:00P.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY with Rev. Winston Hallett and Rev. Warren Babcock presiding. Interment will be in the spring in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday February 11th, 2009 from 1:00PM to 3:00P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Charleston Christian Church.
