Rita M. Oniel Spicer, 48, passed away at her home Sunday, December 28, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was born November 3, 1960 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the daughter of Anita Oniel, who survives. Rita will be remembered for her amazing sense of humor. She loved to laugh and joke around and always brought a smile to everyone's face whenever she was around. She also loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, survivors include two sons: Ron Spicer and his wife Ashley of Methuen, MA and Robert Spicer of Lowell, MA; five daughters: Jessica Spicer of Gloversville, NY, Jennifer Spicer of Lawrence, MA, Amy Tilt of Canajoharie, NY, Julie Tilt of Mayfield, NY and Jamie Tilt of Mayfield, NY; eight grandchildren: Selena, Kayla, Sean, Jesenia, Jason, Jordyn, Krista and Xavier; three brothers: Edward Oniel of Lawrence, MA, Peter Oniel of Lawrence, MA and Patrick Oniel of Crotched Mountain, NH; Rita is also survived by her loving companion John P. Tilt of Gloversville. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service Wednesday, December 31 at 1 pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville with the Reverend Michael O'Leary officiating. Cremation will take place at the Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions can be made in Rita's memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
