Norman G. Bain
February 20th, 1950 - August 29th, 2008
Norman G. Bain, 58, of Glen Drive, Fultonville, passed away peacefully early Friday at St. Mary's Hospital following a long illness. His wife and son were at his side. Born in Amsterdam on Feb. 20, 1950, he was the son of the late Edward and Phyllis Denton Bain and was a 1968 graduate of Fonda Fultonville Central School. Norm worked for General Electric for a time and later was employed by Amsterdam Printing & Litho. He retired due to ill health in December 1999 from the White Mop Wringer Corp. in Fultonville. Norm was a great NASCAR fan and when able, loved to hunt, fish and play softball. On January 16, 1971, he was united in marriage to the former Deborah L. Lang. In addition to his wife, he leaves his son; John E. and his wife Riki Bain of Glen; the light of his life, his granddaughter, Sidney Taylor Bain; his sister Patricia Bain and her daughter Brienne of Naples Florida; his mother in law, Margaret Ann Lang of Fultonville; brother in laws, Rodney J. Barbara Lang of East Longmeadow, Mass., and Gregory W. Pat Lang of Newport, N.Y.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his caregiver Jean Perue and many dear friends. In keeping with Norm's wishes, his remains will be cremated and there will be no calling hours or funeral services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Huntington Disease Society Of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10018; or to a charity of choice.
