Elizabeth "Lynn" F. Herold

Elizabeth "Lynn" F. Herold, 68, of Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday morning August 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Boston, MA on September 2, 1939 a daughter of Walter and Ellen Hood Seale. Mrs. Herold grew up in the Boston area and was a 1958 graduate of Waltham High School in Waltham, MA. She later received an Associates Degree in Computers from Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, NY. Elizabeth was employed at one time for the former Coleco Industries and Nichols Department Store in Amsterdam. Mrs. Herold also worked as a waitress in various restaurants in the Amsterdam area including the former Windsor Restaurant. She last was employed by the Cranesville Block Company in Amsterdam for over 18years as an office manager before her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Elizabeth married Donald Herold on June 20th, 1965. In addition to her husband survivor's include three daughters, Donna Fraumane and her husband Samuel of Hagaman, NY, Debra Weitz of Perth, NY and Diane Bellamy and her husband Michael of Amsterdam. Four grandchildren, Shannon Cannizzaro and her husband Terry of Perth, NY, Emily Weitz of Perth, Christopher and Vanessa Bellamy of Amsterdam. One great grandson, Anthony Cannizzaro. Two special cousins, Daniel Hood and Marjorie St. Jean. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Herold was pre-deceased by Two brothers, Mal and Thomas "Wicky" Seale and a son-in-law- Charles Weitz. Elizabeth's family would like to take this opportunity to thank the nurses and staff at St. Mary's Hospital Maria Hall for the wonderful care given to her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 23, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will be in Perth Cemetery, Town of Perth, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday August 22, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Cancer research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
