Raymond W. Pike, 63, of Gloversville died Friday August 15, 2008. He was born in Utica, NY on May 9, 1945 the son of Howard W. Sr. and Ruth Lamphere. Mr. Pike had previously worked for Gloversville Transit and Coleco. He also volunteered his time to many charities and organizations including the Salvation Army, Prison Fellowship, the Soup Kitchen and Lexington Bingo, as well as many others. He was known for having a great heart and helped anyone in their time of need. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa C. Richardson and her husband Charles of Ft. Johnson, NY; his mother, Ruth Feight of Johnstown; three sisters: Betty Carter John, Louise King John and Nancy Reynolds Daniel, all of Gloversville; three grandchildren: Lance, Ryan and Carson Richardson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, a brother Howard W. Pike Jr. and a niece Betty Ann Getwright. Visitation will be Tuesday August 19 from 11am to 12noon from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will follow at noon with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 10 Spring St., Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the Gathering Place, 10 Grand St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
