Brenda L. Kilmartin, 49, of Division Street, Fort Plain, died unexpectedly, Monday, July 21, 2008 at home. Born on June 27, 1959, in Little Falls, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Esther Swartz Smith. A lifelong area resident, Brenda was educated locally. On August 27, 1983, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Kilmartin. Together for nearly 25 years, they raised a beautiful family and made their home in Fort Plain. Her loving family includes, her husband Paul; three daughters, Chrissy Duesler Alfred Lamont, Jr., Kimberley Przeslrzelski and her husband Joshua, Amanda Hillsgrove and her husband David, all of Fort Plain; six cherished grandchildren, Preston, Jesslynn, Kendra, Brandon, Jaden, and Jordan; six sisters, Marlene Dolder and her husband Bill of Fort Plain, Patricia Crouse and her husband Gary of Fort Plain, Gloria Augustine and her husband Don of Fort Plain, Donna Waveris and her husband Bob of Canajoharie, Debra Smith of Fort Plain, Cynthia Harrison and her husband David of Fort Plain; four brothers Donald Smith and his wife Donna of Florida, Dennis Smith and his wife Tina of Fort Plain, Kevin Smith and his wife Alberta of Fort Plain and Jeff Smith and his wife Ginger of Mayfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edna Mae Ramos and Betty Crouse; and a brother-in-law Charlie Smith. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman presiding. Internment will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday evening from 4 until 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Fort Plain Volunteer Fire Department, 168 Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339 or to the Mid County Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 453, Palatine Bridge, NY 13428.
