Antoinette Van Wie
August 14th, 1944 - June 11th, 2008
Antoinette Auriemma Van Wie, 63, of State Highway 30 S., passed away suddenly Wednesday morning at her home. Born in Amsterdam on August 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Jeanette Casagrandi Auriemma. A 1962 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Antoinette lived here her entire life. For more than the past twenty five years, she was employed by Dr. Hilbert Ziskin and more recently Dr. Michael Rosenberg as a billing clerk. Antoinette was most happy when she was at home with her family, carrying on the beautiful Sunday Italian tradition of dinner together. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. On October 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Joseph W. Van Wie. He predeceased her on November 21, 2006. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she also lost her brothers Alfred and Peter Auriemma and her dear nephew Brian Gibson. Her loving family includes her children; Joseph P. Van Wie, Kim and her husband Joseph Kelly and Sherri Van Wie and her friend Steve Burrall; her three special grandchildren; Joshua, Michael and Briana Kelly all of Amsterdam; her sisters; Marion Bienick, Elizabeth Guadagno and Rosemarie Auriemma all of Amsterdam; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and special pet Kodi. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:15 am at St. Mary's Church, East Main Street. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. At Antoinette's request, calling hours are private. Contributions may be made in her name to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, to whom her family has entrusted her arrangements.
