Heather Jo Childs, 38, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was born in Gloversville on June 20, 1969, the daughter of Joan Schreiber and Jon Childs. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1987 where she played volleyball and softball. Heather worked as a critical care technician at Ellis Hospital. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the games on television. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Heather was predeceased by her mother, Joan A. Childs on February 9, 1998. She is survived by her father, Jon D. Childs of Johnstown; a brother, Matthew J. Childs of Johnstown and aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends and family are invited and may call on Monday, April 7, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Dr. R. W. Williams presiding. Interment will be at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Donations may be made in Heather's memory to the charity of one's choice.
