William W. Dunker, 66, of Cobleskill, NY, formerly of Fonda, NY, died unexpectedly Tuesday March 18, 2008 at his home. Born in Bronx, NY on January 16, 1942 a son of William H. and Evelyn B. Lehman Dunker. He was a resident of Flushing-Queens, NY for most of his life before coming to the Fonda area in the early 1990's. He has resided in Cobleskill, NY since 1996. William was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1962 to 1966 during the Vietnam War. Following his service he was employed for over 30 years by the United States Postal Service in Flushing NY as a mail handler. He retired in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid conservationist. He is survived by his sister, Susan DiMauro and her husband Joseph DiMauro of Fonda, NY. Nieces and nephews, Joseph and Dina DiMauro of Commack, NY, Jennifer and Carmine Ciambra of Huntington Station, NY and Roseanne and Raymond Lybolt of Fonda, NY. Great nieces and nephews, Gabriella, Sofia and Eva DiMauro and Raymond Lybolt. First cousins and lifelong friends, Jane and Bill Ketterer of Madison, CT. Other cousins and friends also survive. A prayer service will be held on Friday Today at 3:00P.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY. Interment will be on Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Today from 1:00PM to 3:00P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1231, Gloversville, NY 12078.
