Sandra M. Clark, 62, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. She was born on August 16, 1945 to Guy and Helen Fort Sommers in Hindesville, New York. She was a homemaker who enjoyed pogo games on the internet, puzzles, watching television and talking on the phone. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family. Sandra?s proudest accomplishment was going to area schools and teaching children about the dangers of smoking. She was able to do this through the school and county supported organizations of Project Action and Reality Check. Sandra is survived by two daughters: Helen Eric Thompson of Gloversville and Anna Randy Clark of Johnstown; a brother, Eugene A. Sommers of Illinois; three half brothers: Walter Boyd Fort of Gloversville, Kenneth Sommers of Sharon Springs and Stanley Sommers of Delanson; three half sisters: Anna Joyce Pogorzelski of Delanson, Norma Fancher of North Carolina and Winifred Graham of Cobleskill; four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter: Alice Joyce Surnear; three half brothers: Lawrence Sommers, Loren Sommers and Boyd Fort and a half sister, Alice Jean Dauley. Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, January 4, 1-2 p.m. at Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The funeral service will be on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Doctor Earl Johnson, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra?s memory to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, New York 10006.
