Walter Wesley VanderKooy
August 14th, 1933 - April 7th, 2016
Walter (Wally) Wesley VanderKooy, age 82 died of a long battle with cancer on April 7, 2016 in his home in Aurora CO. Wally is survived by his wife Mary. Children : Linda VanderKooy Palmer Lake CO, Gerald (Joanne) VanderKooy, Elizabeth CO, Russell (Becky) VanderKooy, Thornton CO, Dewey (Naomi) Dunlap, Henderson CO, Jerri Weikel, Evergreen CO, Perry (Sue) Dunlap, Denver CO, daughter-in-law Peggy Dunlap, Burlington,CO, and son-in-law Don Weikel, Evergreen CO, Wally is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren, 2 brothers Ed (Mary) VanderKooy, of Holland, MI, and Charley (Joanne) VanderKooy, of Lansing, IL. And, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his parents, a sister and daughter-in-law . Wally was born August 14, 1933, in Morrison IL. He was a great family man and a loving father to his children. He married Mary in 1983 and inherited her 3 children. Making one large blended family, he called all of them his. Wally was a socially active man who was involved in Business Management for the majority of his life. In retirement Wally enjoyed boating, remodeling, woodwork and the art of Nantucket basket weaving, and always loved taking a long quest out in his boat. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, 11:00 am, at Riverside Baptist Church Denver CO .80211. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center, All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wally's life.
