Everett R. Oest, 73, of Fort Plain passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge. He was born February 9, 1934 on Long Island to the late John and Edith Oest. Everett was raised and attended schools on Long Island, relocating to the Fort Plain area in the early 1980?s. He married the former Laura Snyder in the Town of Minden on September 3, 1983. Everett enjoyed word fill-ins, watching television, playing cards, and going for walks. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. His loving family includes his wife of 25 years, Laura Oest of Ft. Plain, three daughters, Lois Frank Kaszab of Ft. Plain, Joanne Johnson of Long Island, and Alison Stanton of Queens Village, two step-sons, Russell Colleen Hurteau of Ft. Plain and Raymond Hurteau of Ft. Plain, five grandchildren, Jennifer Kaszab, Stephanie Kaszab, Ronnie Johnson, Danielle Johnson and Amanda Hurteau, a sister, Lois DeGroff of Elmont and a brother, John Oest of Bethpage. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Funeral Service will be at 1:00PM on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317, with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Contributions in Everett?s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
