Mrs. Alicia Anne Satas, 57 years old, of Ellsworth Street, died Tuesday at her home. Mrs. Satas was born March 8, 1950, in Amsterdam, a daughter of Stephen and Emma Mullett Terplak, Sr., and was a life long resident of Amsterdam. She was employed as a computer programmer by NYS Agriculture and Markets for 30 years, retiring in 2005. Mrs. Satas was a member of St. Ann?s Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday School and was Treasurer of the church. She was the current president of the ECW of St. Ann?s and had served as its vice-president. Alicia was an avid camper at McConchies Camp Ground. She also enjoyed sewing and bowling. Survivors in addition to her mother, are her husband Wayne D. Satas, whom she married September 9, 1973; her daughter, Shana Christopher A. Smith of Amsterdam; her son, Wayne A. Satas of Amsterdam; two brothers, Stephen Yvette Terplak, Jr. of Altamont, New York and Peter John Terplak of Amsterdam; her sister, Katherine Gary M. Hazzard of Amsterdam; her mother-in-law, Sylvia Re of Amsterdam; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends. The Office for the Burial of the Dead will be read and Holy Eucharist Celebrated on Friday at 9:30am at St. Ann?s Episcopal Church, 37 Division Street, Amsterdam. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematorium. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4 until 7:00pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Ann?s Episcopal Church or the Liberty Foundation.
