Dorothy Marie Farrington

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Farrington of Gloversville and Clearwater, Florida, passed away June 2, 2007 in Clearwater after a sudden illness. She was born January 6, 1919 in Rutland, Vermont, daughter of the late Dr. Grover E. and Geraldine Anderson Dailey. Mrs. Farrington had been a local resident most of her life. A beloved wife and mother, she dedicated her life to her family. Dorothy enjoyed boating, golfing and tennis. She and her husband Albert J. ?Duke? Farrington enjoyed 67 years of wonderful marriage and shared many dear friendships in New York and Florida. Dorothy was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Gloversville and St. Brendan?s Church in Clearwater. She is survived by her beloved husband and her sister, Geraldine ?Dodo? Lazar. Dorothy is the mother of Guy Farrington, James Debbie Farrington of Colonie, Susan Ken Lubiniecki, Daniel Rosalie Farrington of Rotterdam Junction, Lynn Frank DeLorenzo of Schenectady, Albert Sue Farrington of Clifton Park and Mark Valerie Farrington of Mayfield and the Grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to two of her children Guy and Susan she was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Lawrence Dailey. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, June 7 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a prayer service will take place at 10:15am on Friday, June 8 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, Kingsboro Avenue, Gloversville. Interment will take place at Memory?s Garden, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one?s choice.
