Jeffrey Van Epps
March 8th, 1956 - January 9th, 2007
Jeffrey Van Epps, 50, of McElwain Avenue, Amsterdam died Tuesday evening at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on March 8, 1956 in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Robert and Colleen Truax Van Epps. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1974 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Jeff was employed as a construction worker with Local #370 in Albany. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants, the NY Yankees and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt. He was also a proud player of recreation softball with the Mohawks. Jeff was of the Catholic faith. On September 20, 1987 he was united in marriage to the former Karen Kilinski. His loving family includes his wife; two brothers, Robert Van Epps and his wife Mary Kay of Schenectady, and David Van Epps; he was the son-in-law of Jerome and Maryann Kilinski of Amsterdam; brother-in-law?s of Dawn Bonanno and her husband Robert of Amsterdam, Mark Kilinski and his wife Mary Pat of Coconut Creek, FL and Darlene Kilinski- Simone and her husband Roger of Amsterdam; uncle of Meghan and Kelly Van Epps, Jennifer Heid and her husband Scott; April La Porte and Kaylee Simone; and his feline companion Smokey. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 4 until 7 this evening Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the funeral home.
