Mr. Donald W. Curtis, 68 of Gloversville, died Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Born August 28, 1938 in Ephratah, he was the son of the late John W. and Katherine Leach Curtis. He was educated in Gloversville and Broadalbin schools and a graduate of Broadalbin High School. Mr. Curtis was a member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union and employed at General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 30 years, retiring in 1995. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing all his life. Don was also a well-known area bowler, participating in various leagues for many years. Don was a loyal Yankee fan and a member of the Gloversville Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife; Kathleen Anderson Curtis of Gloversville whom he married September 8, 2001. He is also survived by two stepchildren: Lisa La Grange of Gloversville, and Eric Girard of Amsterdam, two brothers: John Curtis of Apache Junction, Arizona and Abraham Lincoln Curtis of Connecticut and four step-grandchildren. Mr. Curtis was pre-deceased by a brother; George Curtis and a sister; Anne Van Buren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-5 pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, New York. A graveside service for urn burial will be held 11 am Monday at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, New York in the old section, Steele Ave. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square Albany, New York. 12205
