Cynthia Ann Battista, 47, of Liberty Enterprises Van Dyke Avenue Residence, passed away Thursday August 10, 2006 at her home. Born in Canton Ohio on August 11, 1958 a daughter of Thomas and Betty Kibble Battista Jr. She lived in Amsterdam most of her life and attended Tecler Elementary School. Cynthia was a resident of Liberty Enterprises in Amsterdam and took part in many of their programs including Liberty Day Treatment. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Amsterdam and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by a sister, Victoria Lynn Sweeney and her husband Richard of McKinney, Texas. A Nephew Richard Sweeney Jr. of Texas. A Special Friend Thomas Johnson of Amsterdam. Her housemates on Van Dyke Ave and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 15, 2006 at 12:00Noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Jerry Kaufman presiding. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday prior to the service beginning at 10:00A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to the United Methodist Church, Golf Course Rd. Amsterdam, NY 12010.
