Charles Lewis Knapp
June 1st, 1958 - June 15th, 2016
†œCharlie†� Knapp was born Charles Lewis Knapp on June 1, 1958, in Denver, Colorado to James Barker Knapp and Aimee Rovere Knapp. He passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at his home in Westminster, Colorado on June 15, 2016. He and Sandra Lemmon were married in 1979 in Grand Junction, Colorado and had 2 daughters, Jamie Claeys (Eric) and Jessica Bergin (Patrick). Charlie spent his childhood in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1976. He was an outstanding athlete and later on used this gift to coach his daughters and other children in soccer. His career as a master electrician led him to the eastern slope where he served as a supervisor at Rocky Flats Nuclear Facility during its decommissioning. He later on served as an electrician for the city of Westminster, Colorado. Charlie always kept his tool belt handy to help family and friends with this expertise. Charlie is survived by his wife, Sandy; two daughters, Jamie (Eric), Jessica (Patrick) Bergin; grandchildren, Evey and Emerson Claeys; sisters; Laura Langston, Madeleine LoSasso (David), Daneille Knapp (Lauren Legate), and Michele Soderborg (David), and beloved beagles, Maddie and Peabody. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Aimee Knapp Bellet; father, James Barker Knapp; brother, James Victor Knapp; and sister, Elizabeth Desiree Montalbano. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at Aspen Mortuary in Lakewood, CO, 1350 Simms Street at 10:00am on Friday June 24, 2016. Charlie loved the Grand Valley and his ashes will be scattered on the Grand Mesa where he spent many hours fishing and hunting He is gone from us but will be forever in our hearts.
