Michael A. Damasco

Michael A. Damasco, 63, of Jay Street, passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born August 11, 1942 in Potenza, Italy, he was a son of Palmino and Florinda Bove Damasco. He attended schools in Italy and resided in Brooklyn for many years before moving to Amsterdam. He was chef for 5-star hotels in Europe before coming to Amsterdam and opening City Pizza in the Riverfront Center with his family. He was a member of the Jubilee Fellowship Church of Amsterdam. He married Elena Luongo Damasco on January 11, 1964. Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Paul Damasco of Amsterdam; two brothers, Giovanni Damasco of Italy and Joseph Damasco of Florida; a sister, Adriana Rosetti of East Islip, New York; two grandchildren, Robert and Sarah Damasco and nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 5 at 1pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12 until 1pm preceding the funeral service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
